My name is Chris and I'm going to cycle across Canada.
Now that sounds simple and to the point. But it's not been simple and the point is St. John's Newfoundland. Almost 8ooo kilometres away.
There is a lot of planning in such a journey as this. I've been working on the route for a couple of months. I've just started getting equipment. I purchased a smartphone for communications and am learning how to use it. There is this blog which I'm setting up and figuring out how it works. Training for this ride will begin soon too. Nice to have a physical balance to all this.
But planning is one of the tasks that I enjoy. Always have. It's a bit of an obssesive-compulsive thing. At times I feel overwhelmed but it is part of the process and I know that when the ride begins in mid-June I will be prepared, but not overly, and being overwhelmed will be probably be replaced with nervous excitement.
In the next postings on this blog I will give more details about the route, equipment, myself, why I have a blog?, training, and lots of thoughts. A head full of them.
