Day 59 Ottawa Rest Day

In keeping with the spirit of a rest day I'll keep this short.
I headed out about 9 to mail off my unwanted things like a leaky mattress then went to Kunstadt Sports where I wanted to buy a lock and they ended up babysitting my bike for free. They are open until 9 so I had time to head into the Capital and do a quick look about.
I would think you'd need at least a few days to see the museums and galleries that Ottawa has to offer.
I chose the National Gallery and managed to see the work of
A.Y. Jackson, Emily Carr, Arthur Lismer, Tom Thomson and of course many others. That took a couple of hours.
Of course I couldn't miss Parliment Hill. I don't think anybody was home. They are probably all on a holiday. I wanted to talk to somebody about improving cycling infrastructure across the nation. Oh well.
And for all those blog followers from the United States I got a quick picture of your embassy before the guards ran out and asked me what I was doing. Although with all those closed-circut cameras pointing my way I'm sure they could figure it out.
And you know what? I'm taking a rest day tomorrow too because a day looking around a city is not restful.
Tomorrow will be a laundry, packing and actually resting day as I want to get an early start on Wednesday and get through the city. And don't forget to check out the Flikr Photostream as I've uploaded a few more pictures of Parliment hill and Ottawa sights.
